At IFPA, we are dedicated to fostering the growth of the agri-food industry in the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS).

Our mission is to facilitate private-sector-led trade and investment across the agri-food value chain in IOFS/OIC Member States. We aim to achieve this by providing a range of services, connecting exporters to importers and investors, and advocating for the private sector agri-food industry in member states.

IFPA takes a strategic approach to achieve its mission and vision. We critically analyze the agri-food value chain of the top OIC domiciled industry and ecosystem players. With the support of our strategic partners, we continuously benchmark against global standards across the value chain for competitive advantage. We translate the IOFS mandate through our unique B2B platform to enable ethical, innovative, and sustainable private-sector engagement vis-à-vis intra-OIC trade.

Our Objective

To enable the growth of the OIC food industry by supporting the development of a thriving valueadded food market in the IOFS/OIC countries.

To create favourable conditions for expanding mutual intra-OIC trade, attracting Islamic finance/investment, and increasing exports and imports in a sustainable, ethical, and innovative manner.

To organize annual summits and other periodic events, showcasing industry reports and bringing together major OIC thought leaders and champions in related sectors.

IFPA History: Rooted in Food Security Efforts

The Islamic Food Processing Association (IFPA) emerged from a collaborative effort to address food security challenges faced by Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states.

The IOFS: A Food Security Solution

The Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS) was established in Astana, Kazakhstan, under the leadership of H.E. Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Recognizing the critical need to address hunger, malnutrition, and food shortages in OIC countries, the IOFS aimed to create a platform for collaboration and resource mobilization.

IFPA Established: A Step Towards Food Security

During a forum on developing OIC agro-food industries, the establishment of an Islamic Food Processing Association (IFPA) was recommended. This recommendation emerged from discussions led by food security experts from various OIC member states.

IOFS Strengthens Food Security Cooperation

The IOFS Statute is signed by 19 OIC member states, solidifying the organization's commitment to food security cooperation.

IFPA Established as IOFS Subsidiary

The 3rd General Assembly of IOFS, led by the Chair (Saudi Arabia) approves the resolution to establish IFPA as a subsidiary organization. This decision reflects the growing importance of food processing for food security within the OIC region.
